There were reports that Ajmal-ur-Rahmans father, Mr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, had lodged a complaint with the police against his brother-in-law Mr Moh-ammad Azharuddin, holding him responsible for the accident. But he denied that he had lodged the complaint. We are together sharing our grief. Its not true that I have lodged a complaint, he said. The Cyberabad police commissioner, Mr Tirumala Rao, said, We have registered a case and in that case Mr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman asked the police to take necessary action regarding the accident and we will take the required action.
Mr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman was in tears and looked as if he hadnt slept or eaten after hearing the news of the death of his son. He insisted, We havent booked any case against Azhar or his family members. We are praying for the recovery of Ayazuddin. We would like to put to rest any news being falsely circulated about the police complaint been filed against Azharuddins family. We request you to please pray for Ayaz, and also understand that this is a moment of extreme sadness and grief for us. Inspector Mr P. Narayana of the Narsingi police said, There hasnt been any complaint registered by anyone against Mr Azharuddin or his family.

Azharuddin's Son Still 'Very Critical', Doctors Keeping Close Watch
Hyderabad, Sep 12: Ayazuddin, son of former India cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin who
met with grave accident on Sunday September 11 morning, continues to be
in a very critical condition.
A bulletin released by the Apollo Hospital where he's admitted stated
that he is in a 'very critical condition and is currently on a
ventilator. He has multi-organ failure and is being supported with
medication and other treatment to maintain his vital functions."
It further stated, "The prognosis and outcome are guarded due to the severity of the injury and continued instability."
Mahesh Joshi, head, emergency medicines at Apollo Hospital, said the
youngster sustained grievous injuries in the chest and kidneys. A
surgery was performed on him late on Sunday to stop bleeding from the
chest.
Sources said that a tem of specialist doctors are keeping watch round-the-clock on Ayazuddin.
The accident took place near Puppalguda on the Outer Ring Road when
the sports bike Ayazuddin was riding skidded and crashed, killing
16-year-old Ajman-ur-Rehman, his cousin.
Soon after hearing the news of the accident, Azharddin who was in
London rushed back to Hyderabad. He and his family members, including
his first wife Naureen and second wife Sangeeta Bijlani, are camping in
the hospital.
Ayazuddin, a promising cricketer, is Azharuddin's younger son, from
his first wife Naureen. Elder son Asaduddin also plays cricket.
Ajmal-ur-Rahman was buried in a graveyard in Shantinagar on Sunday
night. He was the son of Congress leader Khaleeq-ur-Rahman and grandson
of former MP Khaleel-ur-Rahman.
Azharuddin joined Congress before 2009 elections and was elected to the Lok Sabha from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh.

HYDERABAD: With no traffic signals, traffic police and speed control mechanism, the Outer Ring Road (ORR) has become a virtual death trap. Over a dozen accidents have taken place on the stretch in the past few months in which 10 people have died.
Former cricketer Mohd Azharuddin's son Ayazuddin got critically injured while his nephew died in a road accident near Poppalguda on ORR on Sunday morning. He was reportedly riding a 1,000 cc sports bike, Suzuki GSX R1000.
In a similar accident, actor Kota Srinivasa Rao's son, Kota Prasad, died in June 2010 when his 1,000 cc bike was hit by a truck on the ORR stretch between Gachibowli and Shamshabad.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) had opened the completed stretches of ORR for regular traffic without putting in place any safety measures like streetlights, traffic signals, control rooms and radar guns. Incidentally, two and three-wheelers are banned on the ORR. However, bikers get on to the ORR for racing.
The HMDA has taken up work at the 158-km stretch of ORR of which it completed only about 62 km between Pedda Amberpet and Patancheru. Though it is planning to provide phone booths, radar guns and closed circuit cameras at junctions after completion of the entire ORR, accidents have been increasing. Residents of surrounding villages allege that the ORR was opened without any signals, especially at junctions and intersections leading to accidents.
HMDA officials and the Cyberabad police say that the accidents have been taking place on the ORR mainly due to overspeeding. The ORR is meant for a speed limit of 120 kilometres/per hour, but motorists seldom follow the norms.
"We have put signages on speed limits, diversions and junctions on the completed portion of the ORR a few months ago with the help of the Cyberabad traffic police," Outer Ring Road chief general manager N Surya Prakash Reddy told TOI.
Many accidents have reportedly taken place due to lack of central lighting system and other measures.
HMDA had planned to provide manual toll gates to collect toll tax from vehicles that take the ORR. If toll gates are provided, entry of two wheelers on ORR can be prevented. However, the toll collection issue is now with the municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) department for approval of the tender process.
"The government should take a serious note on the sale of sports bikes, especially 1,000 cc bikes which go up to 300 km/hr speed. Why should these bikes be allowed in the city when the roads are not even designed for 60 km/hr?" National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) vice-chairman and Sanatnagar MLA Marri S Reddy said.

Congress MP A. Saipratap is the latest to openly support Kadapa MP Y.S.
Jagan Mohan Reddy of the YSR Congress Party. So far, MP Mekapati
Rajamhan Reddy (Nellore) has submitted his resignation from the Lok
Sabha and MP Sabbam Hari (Anakapalle) has announced that he will quit
the Congress by the end of the current Monsoon Session. The Rajampet MP,
a long time associate of the late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, belongs to
the numerically strong Balija or Kapu community in Kadapa district.
He
was dropped as a Union Minister of State for Steel in the recent
shuffle. After holding consultations with his followers in his
constituency, where a majority Congress MLAs are with Jagan, Saipratap
took this decision. In a six-page open letter on Friday night, Saipratap
lashed out at the Congress for tarnishing the image of the late YSR
through a CBI chargesheet in the ongoing investigations into Jagans
assets. I am pained to observe the smear campaign against the late YSR
who singlehandedly brought the Congress to power in both Andhra Pradesh
and at the Centre, he said. He also criticised Chief Minister Kiran
Kumar Reddy, his colleagues and Pradesh Congress Committee president
Botsa Satyanrayana for keeping silent while the CBI mentioned the name
of YSR in the chargesheet. Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (126) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 451 |
